Hitachi Vantara updates its unified compute platform

Hitachi Vantara has updated its Hitachi Vantara Unified Compute Platform (UCP) HC to facilitate faster time to market, pay-as-you-go economics, hardened security against data breaches, and greater levels of automation.

The digital infrastructure and solutions subsidiary of Japan’s Hitachi Ltd said the updated service is now a VMware vSAN Global Partner Alliance, a new category of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) deployment options to help simplify procurement, deployment, and maintenance of HCI systems. At the same time, an update to Hitachi UCP RS was also announced.

“Hitachi Vantara offers distinct operational efficiency with flash—accelerated, converged, and hyperconverged infrastructure, which makes it stand out,” said Hitachi Vantara Philippines Business Director Varghese Mathew. “It also achieves unmatched reliability, flexibility, automation, and performance for the most demanding workloads, which is definitely a must in staying competitive in the Philippine market.”

The updated solution will not just speed up IT investments and architecture decisions of Hitachi Vantara’s business clients. It will also help streamline costs due to reduced operational complexities. The updated UCP HC could trim the traditional IT operational model into a one-layer model through VMware’s technology.

Hitachi Vantara helps businesses with improved data protection and cost savings through the prevention of the need for any virtual desktop data backups in such solutions. While doing so, this solution empowers end users to perform their own file recoveries and protect their data from ransomware attacks, too. Through VMware’s NSX technologies, Hitachi Vantara can now facilitate individually firewalled desktops along with the applications and data.

“Digitalization is fundamentally changing the way organizations compete in the Philippines, especially as they pivot towards the rapidly developing innovation economy,” said VMware Philippines Country Manager Walter So. “With our partnership with Hitachi Vantara, we are now in a unique position to enable organizations with a next-generation infrastructure that offers greater simplicity, agility, and security providing Filipino enterprises with a robust digital foundation to accelerate business innovation as they grow and scale across the region.”
