Cebu Pacific starts offering Covid insurance add-on on all flights

Cebu Pacific has introduced its latest add-on to its CEB Travelsure insurance. The country’s leading carrier now offers Covid Protect to passengers on all of its flights. This is part of its goal to further bolster passenger confidence.

CEB Travelsure Covid Protect will cover Covid-related hospitalization and treatment costs. Under the policy, insured passengers who test positive for the new coronavirus will be eligible for coverage worth up to P1 million for hospitalization and medical expenses.

As an upgrade or add-on to the airline’s current comprehensive travel insurance plan, CEB Travelsure Covid Protect may be availed in flights to and from the company’s domestic and international destinations for as low as P270. The coverage commences on the date of departure from the origin and ends two hours after arriving back at the origin. There is a maximum travel duration of 30 consecutive days.

“We are pleased to launch the CEB Travelsure Covid Protect in line with our commitment to restart travel and tourism safely and sustainably,” said Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience Candice Iyog. “With Covid Protect, guests will be able to travel more confidently s they are assured of coverage, especially if they have essential travel scheduled.”

The insurance can be availed when booking flights on Cebu Pacific’s website. Existing CEB Travelsure insured passengers can purchase the Covid Protect as an add-on up to two hours before their scheduled flight through the ‘manage Booking’ portal.

CEB Travelsure Covid Protect is underwritten by the Insurance Company of North America (a Chubb Company). Chubb is the biggest publicly traded property and casualty insurer in the world. It also offers a 24/7 Emergency Assistance Hotline and facilitates an online filing of claims.

CEB Travelsure is Cebu Pacific’s comprehensive travel insurance plan that provides extensive trip protection with coverage of costs related to having injuries, illnesses, loss of personal belongings, trip cancellations, emergency assistance, and other unforeseen travel circumstances.
