Colorful night run set on May 27

Concept fun-run organizer Color Manila has announced a three-city tour for its CM Blacklight Run 2017. The event will kick off with its popular night run in Filinvest City in Alabang, Muntinlupa City on May 27, from 8 p.m. onwards. It will be mounted in Bacolod City on June 3 and in Davao City on August 12.

This year, CM Blacklight Run Manila is targeting up to 12,000 runners, matching the actual number of runners that participated in its CMR5 fun run held earlier this year to commemorate the organization’s fifth year.

“We created the CM Blacklight Run Tour so that our followers can have the option of signing up for all three events and give them the opportunity to experience the most colorful night run in the country today,” said Color Manila VP Justine Cordero. “Thus, more than just enjoying the run with your friends, you’re also able to see more of the Philippines.”

Color Manila VP Justine Cordero

During its launch held on May 2 at F1 Hotel in Taguig City, Cordero shared 10 interesting reasons to participate in this colorful fun-run:

1. CM Blacklight Run is held at night.
Runners and even non-runners need not worry about getting sunburn or possibly succumbing to heat stroke as this fun-run is held from 8 p.m. onwards. Assembly of runners may start by sunset at the venue.

2. Ensured safety and security
Cordero emphasized that CM Blacklight Run is a technical race. This means that the organization is fully equipped and has signed up doctors, medics, traffic marshals, and even firefighters to be in the venue at the time of the race to make sure necessary and appropriate assistance would be provided as needed. There would even be ambulances for emergency situations, while hydration stations will be scattered along the race route to prevent possible dehydration among participants.

3. Opportunity for socialization
The fun run will be a good opportunity to meet and make new friends especially among runners and non-runners who are sharing the same interest in running. It can also be a good venue to spend quality time with relatives and friends.

4. Party ‘clean’ and ‘unclean.’
Just like in past CM Blacklight Runs, one of the highlights of the upcoming fun run will be the after-race party, which will be a clean and healthy one as drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking will still be prohibited. Colorful dust powder (guaranteed safe for the health) will also be scattered by the end of the run to facilitate the fun and exciting culmination of the race.

5. There are enticing race kits.
Participants have the option to choose among three types of available kits. The Deluxe kit costs P950 and includes a drift shirt, headlamp, race bib, color packet, and a finisher’s medal.

The Rockstar kit costing P1,500 consists of a drift shirt, race bib, headlamp, drawstring bag, foldable water bottle, face paint tube, color packet, and a finisher’s medal.

Lastly, the 6K Blacklight Challenger kit can be availed for P2,000. The package has two drift shirts, race bib, headlamp, drawstring bag, foldable water bottle, face paint tube, color packet, and a finisher’s medal.

Race kits can be claimed from May 23 to May 27 at the 2nd level, Node Expansion of Festival Mall in Alabang from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

6. Exclusive race route
The entire race route will be exclusively locked out for CM Blacklight Run Manila during the event. Participants can choose from four race categories: 3K, 5K, 10K, and the 6K Challenger.

7. Good time for selfies and/or groupies
For those who love to take photos for social media sharing, CM Blacklight Run will be an interesting event, just like in the past races. Participants can take unlimited selfies or groupies.

8. Shared and unforgettable experience
CM Blacklight Run has always facilitated unforgettable running experiences that end up being shared across the social media to gain more likes and shares.

9. It is for all ages.
Cordero emphasized that CM Blacklight Run is for everyone. Participants can also bring along their kids, who will surely enjoy the sights and the experience all night. Parents do not need to worry because the fun run has always been children-friendly.

10. CM Blacklight Run is the biggest night run in the Philippines.
As the event is set on a weekend, more participants can be expected not just from Metro Manila but also from nearby cities and provinces. CM Blacklight Run has made it a tradition to outperform the recent Blacklight Run in terms of runner turnout.
