Disney’s latest offering, Coco, is a heart-warming movie that is filled with family fun, magic, and emotional moments that are typical of a Pixar film. That is why it is a highly recommended silver screen event that your whole family should not miss.
The movie tells the story of 12-year-old Miguel, who’s passion for music came undeterred despite an order from his grandmother to ditch his love for music to avoid a family curse, which rooted from his great-great grandfather Ernesto de la Cruz, who in turn died as a career-oriented music and film star.
On the eve of Dia de Muertos or Day of the Dead in Mexico (observed every first of November), Miguel broke into his family’s mausoleum to borrow Ernesto’s signature guitar so he could finally join a talent competition. Miguel unexpectedly gets into a unique musical journey as he was transported to the Land of the Dead where he discovered unbreakable family ties. His adventures began when he had to break the curse so he could return to the world of the living.
These three big factors make Coco an outstanding film to watch this season:
1. As expected from Disney-Pixar, the animation used to depict the story was simply breathtaking. All the colors and visual textures throughout the entire length of the movie would surely leave you in awe.
2. The music completes the movie experience. Not to be missed is Coco’s banner song ‘Remember Me,’ a tear-jerking ode to the family. Many other musical numbers fill the flick and you’ll certainly see the inherent Disney touch in it.
3. Of course, the animated adventures culminate in a grand realization of heart-warming lessons that apply to the family. It also showcases the stunning Mexican and Latino culture that will make viewers understand these races more.
