For the third time, Jobstreet.com is inviting all graduating engineering students from across Metro Manila and the country to the Philippine Engineering Students Congress, which is set on March 9, 2018 at the Quezon City campus of the Technological Institute of the Philippines.
This annual daylong convention is aimed at guiding participating engineering students as they prepare to hunt and apply for appropriate jobs in the coming months. Panel discussions about the job market landscape, insights on employability, and tips on how to pass the engineering board exam would be the highlight of the program. Jobstreet.com has invited successful engineers and other main stakeholders of the industry to lead the forums.
The 3rd Philippine Engineering Students Congress will also hold a career fair. Up to 20 companies will participate in this activity to showcase their brand and post future employment opportunities. Those employers include Schneider Electric, the Asian Institute of Management, Inc., Hitachi Elevator Philippines Corp., Kalinisan Chemicals Corp., Sunfish Asia Energy Solutions, ADP (Philippines) Inc., and Global Payments Process Inc.
“Engineering has been among the top 10 most advertised and most in-demand specializations on Jobstreet.com year-on-year,” said Jobstreet.com Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca. “In the overseas front, the Engineering specialization is also highly in-demand.”
Gioca noted that based on WorkAbroad.ph’s 2017 Overseas Salary Report, jobs related to the field, which comprise up to 22% of overall overseas jobs from January to October last year, are still among the highest paying job specializations abroad.
“We hold this congress every year to equip and inspire future engineers as they embark on their career journey,” he added.
Interested engineering students may pre-register through this link or coordinate with the office of the president or dean’s office of their respective universities or colleges, which have received invitations from the organizers. The event is also open to businesses and companies that may intend to participate in any of the activities during the congress, especially the career fair.
