In line with its commitment to help Filipinos find the right jobs even during the pandemic, Jobstreet Philippines is rolling out its first-ever Online Career Fair on September 14 to 18, 2020. For this virtual employment fair, the online job board is teaming up with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to offer occupation opportunities in the public sector.
The maiden edition of the Online Career Fair 2020 will fill up over 10,000 government job positions. Those vacancies are from about 700 participating government agencies and institutions across the country. Aside from Metro Manila-based opportunities, about 28% of the vacant positions are from Region 4 (Calabarzon and Mimaropa), 18% are from Central Visayas, and 15% are from Western Visayas. Job roles include Deputy Register of Deeds, Admin Officer, Attorney, Accountants, and Procurement Officers.
“It’s always been Jobstreet’s advocacy to provide every Filipino with jobs that matter to them, and it’s an honor that the Civil Service Commission trusted us to be a part of this initiative to help employees rebuild their career during this difficult time,” said Jobstreet Country Manager Phillip Gioca.
The Online Career Fair comes at a time when job losses and unemployment rates drastically rise due to the impact of the Covid-19 quarantine. Based on Jobstreet’s Job Report in August 2020, 60% of local job candidates have so far been affected by the pandemic. Of those, 17% were permanently retrenched, while 43% are now temporarily not working. Those who have been retrenched were those not working full time and have been in organizations with less than 500 employees.
“To our Filipino jobseekers, especially those who have been displaced due to the pandemic, we encourage you to join the Online Career Fair and find livelihood opportunities in the public sector,” said CSC Commissioner Atty. Aileen Lourdes Lizada.
To make it easier and faster for job seekers to find and apply for jobs during the Online Career Fair, it is recommended that they create and download the CSC Personal Data Sheet, available through the Online Career Fair microsite. The filled up form can be uploaded to their Jobstreet accounts as résumé. They can even bookmark the website for easier reference.
