Madrid PE launches cashless payment for consular services

Press Release

Madrid PE made consular services more accessible to its client through the launching of its cashless payment for all consular services, including consular outreach services starting April 1, 2024.

In his remarks, Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier said that the cashless payment is part of the Embassy’s response to the President’s ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ campaign which focuses on an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation. “We heed to the President’s call to embark on a transformative journey towards a better Philippines where the government programs and services are accessible to every Filipino,” the Ambassador said.

Ambassador Lhuillier assisted during the first payment using credit card.

To mark the occasion, Ambassador Lhuillier himself assisted during the first consular payment using a credit card.  Consul General Mark Francis C. Hamoy, Consul Eric P. Valenzuela, Madrid PE personnel, and members of the Filipino community were present during the launching.

Ambassador Lhuillier announces the launching of cashless payment for consular services during the flag raising ceremony at the Philippine Embassy.

Cashless payments are made or accepted without the use of hard cash but through the use of credit or debit cards.  The Embassy also accepts other forms of online payment.
