When it comes to concert events of the biggest international acts coming in to please their Filipino fans, no other venue can match the world-class facilities of the Mall of Asia Arena. For its 6th year celebration, MOA Arena staged one of its most jam-packed weeks this year through back-to-back and sold-out shows featuring some of the biggest international acts today.
The giant venue’s anniversary month took a prelude when K-pop sensation EXO mounted the fourth installment of its Elyxion world tour concert on April 28. As expected, the Korean superstar group mesmerized with laser beams, a stylish bar, and light effects as they rendered their most loved songs. For their part, EXO-Ls (the group’s fans) created an ocean of silver using light sticks that were moving along with the beats of the band.
The concert month of May kicked off at MOA Arena with the much-awaited return of Harry Styles to the country, minus his group mates at defunct boy band One Direction, which held a concert at the venue in 2015. “I have one job here, and that is to entertain you,” Styles said upon rocking MOA Arena with some of his hits like ‘Sign of the Times’ and ‘Only Angel.’
On May 2 and 3, another much-awaited performer held his two-day concert—Bruno Mars, who came along with his band called the Hooligans. The Grammy Award-winning artist brought the house down when he belted his hits like ‘24K Magic‘ and ‘Finesse.’ Both concerts ended with a shower of gold confetti, matching his eclectic energy while on stage.
In the coming months, MOA Arena will welcome some more international music acts like Niall Horan, Sam Smith, Paramore, Wanna One, Tiffany and Debbie Gibson, ad Celine Dion.
MOA Arena opened with a big bang in May 2012 with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball Tour. Adhering to the vision of the SM Group to bring quality entertainment to the Philippines, the Arena has now become a valuable partner to the nation’s top promoters and organizers who repeatedly choose it as an avenue for their events.
