Nissan allocates fund to support humanitarian crisis in Ukraine

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is allocating a fund worth €2.5 million (₱143.6 million) to help support the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The Nissan Cares fund will contribute to broader efforts to support people of Ukraine and help affected employees and their families. The Japan-based car manufacturer emphasizes that its priority has always been the safety and livelihood of people.

The fund will donate €1 million (₱57.4 million) to the Red Cross and other non-profit organizations to back the ongoing emergency activities that provide lifesaving assistance and essential supplies to families and children. The company said it is also prepared to donate vehicles.

Nissan is allotting €1.5 million to provide financial stability and continuous support for Nissan employees and their families who have been affected by the ongoing crisis. The assistance includes support for relocation costs, living expenses for displaced families, medical expenses, and special assistance for children.

The company is also encouraging its employees and partners globally to help by contributing to the Nissan Cares special fund—through monetary or goods (food or clothing) donations.

“We have all been moved by the suffering of so many people and families—including members of our own Nissan family,” said Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida. “We have created the Nissan Cares fund to stand by our employees and to support the international efforts working around the clock to respond to this immeasurable human tragedy.”
