Philippine Airlines’ frequent flyer card is transforming into a lifestyle rewards program. PAL Mabuhay Miles has entered into a momentous partnership with SM Advantage Card (SMAC) to make traveling and shopping more exciting and rewarding.
The partnership kicked off with the launch of ‘Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop’ lifestyle campaign that expands the ways to earn and enjoy Mabuhay Miles and SMAC loyalty points. Through the joint initiative, almost 5 million Mabuhay Miles members and almost 6 million SMAC holders can convert their respective rewards points into corresponding points in each program.
Every 500 Mabuhay Miles points can be converted to 50 SMAC points, while every 250 SMAC points can be converted to 100 Mabuhay Miles points. This scheme will give customers the best of both worlds. SMAC and Mabuhay Miles members can fly more to any of the extensive local and international destinations covered by the national carrier and shop more at The SM Store, SM Supermarket, Hypermarket, Savemore, and other retail brands like Alfamart, Waltermart, The Body Shop, Uniqlo, SM Appliances, Levi’s, Our Home, Crate and Barrel, Toy Kingdom, Surplus Shop, and more across group’s 4,000 stores nationwide.
“PAL Mabuhay Miles continues to evolve as a pervasive lifestyle program that offers everything that makes the Heart of the Filipino beat—travel, shopping, dining, and more,” said PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Stanley Ng. “We continue to find ways for earning Miles to be part of everyday life. Our partnership with SMAC is key to achieving this goal. We are delighted to co-create this innovative offering with SMAC and offer greater value to both our customers.”
‘Shop to Fly, Fly to Shop’ is also part of the airline’s 81st anniversary offerings as it pursues its commitment to leveraging creativity and innovation to please its customers while serving as the country’s flag carrier. For its part, SMAC is continuously evolving to increase the benefits and privileges offered as a way of showing appreciation and rewarding the SM retail network’s most loyal customers.
“We are very pleased with this partnership to further ignite Filipinos’ passion for traveling and shopping at a very crucial time, as we help push the country toward full economic recovery,” said Digital Advantage Corp. Chief Operating Officer Kevin Hartigan-Go. “This initiative promotes further engagement and customer delight to both SM shoppers and PAL flyers. Mabuhay Miles members can enjoy their earned miles beyond travel-related activities and SM shoppers can now fly with their SMAC points convertible to PAL Mabuhay Miles.”
