Philippine Airlines and Air Asia resume domestic flights on June 5

Following the lead of Cebu Pacific, the other major domestic carriers—Air Asia and Philippine Airlines—are now set to resume their respective domestic flight operations on Friday, June 5. All airlines are coordinating with the Philippine government and all appointed agencies and units to ensure safety protocols prior to, during, and after air travels.

All passengers are advised to make online bookings of flights and to process necessary travel passes or health documentation (from local government units of the origin point and destination). The authorities constantly remind everyone that leisure travel is still not allowed. Individuals below 21 years old and older than 60 years old—along with those having immunodeficiency, comorbidities, and other health conditions, and pregnant women—are still restricted from traveling via air unless allowed under special circumstances.

Passengers are also required to bring and wear their own face masks and to observe physical distancing at the airport premises and inside the aircraft. Online check-ins are also advised. They are encouraged to arrive at least 3 hours earlier at the airport to give way to safety procedures.

Philippine Airlines

All departures and arrivals of Philippine Airlines’ domestic flights will be at NAIA Terminal 2. The company reminds its passengers to observe all travel mandates set by aviation authorities and other concerned authorities to avoid last-minute problems.

Flights that were previously scheduled from June 3 to 7 had been canceled due to “fine-tuning of local government entry restrictions and requirements.” After coordinating with all concerned agencies and local government units, the country’s major carrier now has the following domestic flight schedule for June 2020:
