Asia’s Songbird holds free online concert for a timely cause

One of the most sought-after concert performers in the country is holding a free concert to support a program that will feed frontliners and families during the pandemic. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is mounting ‘Regine: Joy from Home’ on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 8 p.m. to raise awareness for the FoodAid digital coin bank, a project of the Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF).

Regine: Joy from Home’ will be a treat for fans and families to a night of beautiful music and inspiring stories of hope, courage, and bayanihan. The online musical event will offer Filipino families with an opportunity to bond together over songs and stories that can help them cope through these times, as well as give them a safe and convenient platform to extend help to families in need by donating to the JGF’s FoodAID coin bank.

For the first time, JGF is bringing its coin banks (that used to be found only on the counters of Jollibee Group stores) online in an added effort to raise funds to help feed more families that are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Donations from the digital coin banks will be used to prepare food packs that will be distributed directly to the doorsteps of families in need through the assistance of partner non-government organizations.

“Moving our coin banks online will make it easier for people to donate money that we can add to the fund to provide food packs to those affected by the pandemic,” said JGF Executive Director Gisela Tiongson. “We remain committed to continuing extending a helping hand, and this time, the public can actively take part in this initiative.”

Regine: Joy from Home’ will be streamed on the Jollibee Facebook page and on the Jollibee Studios YouTube channel. For interested donors, they may course donations through online bank transfer (Metrobank Acct. No. 473-7-473-01406-4, Swift Code: MBTCPHMM and RCBC Acct. No. 1253-10519-0) or money transfer on PayMaya.
