Samsung Galaxy device users get free access to premium YouTube services

Samsung is teaming up with YouTube to offer free access to YouTube Premium and YouTube Music. This privilege is now one of the perks of being a part of #TeamGalaxy.

YouTube Premium allows users to enjoy watching videos without the usual interruptions of advertisements. The service even continues playing music or videos even if users exit the app. Furthermore, they can download videos and watch those later when they get offline, still without interruption by any ad. The same privilege is accorded to users of the recently launched YouTube Music app.

Access limit
Users of Galaxy A Series (A80, A70, A50s, A30s, A20s, and A10s) can avail two-month free access to YouTube Premium and/or YouTube Music. Those who use the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Note Series (Note 10 and Note 10+), Galaxy S Series (S10e, S10, and S10+), and Galaxy Tabs (S5e and S6) are entitled to four-month free access to the premium streaming services.

“Offering complimentary access to YouTube Premium is just one of the many ways we want to thank our customers for their support,” said Samsung Philippines Business Unit Head for IT and Mobile Jerry Manus. “It is also our way of showing that Galaxy devices are the perfect lifestyle companion for them to watch their favorite channels and listen to their much-loved music.”

How it works
To avail, a user must have purchased and activated his/her Galaxy device between February 20, 2019 and February 29, 2020. Simply redeem the complimentary subscription on the account section of the YouTube app, where the ‘Get YouTube Premium’ tab can be clicked.

However, Galaxy device users must not have availed any free trial to Google Play Music, YouTube Premium, or YouTube Music Premium in the past 12 months. Eligible Galaxy users shall redeem the offer on their devices before the March 31, 2020 deadline.
