‘Sports Cars for a Cause’ generates funding for scholarships

Different sports cars lined up along the 4th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City on February 9, 2020 for the ‘3rd Sports Cars for a Cause.’ The annual activity is organized by the Burgos Circle Car Club to support its chosen beneficiaries.

Just like in the past two gatherings, this year’s Sports Cars for a Cause generated proceeds to fund scholarships for deserving children at the Sisters of Mary School and Fr. Al’s Children Foundation, Inc. The two charitable institutions both aim to help the Filipino youth attain a better future through education.

The activity lasted from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. Nearly a hundred car enthusiasts and guests—including ambassadors and consuls of various countries—gathered to appreciate an impressive collection of high-end sports and classic cars from different iconic luxury brands like Porsche, McLaren, Lamborghini, and Ferrari.

Select students from the Sister of Mary Schools serenaded the audience. The choir’s song numbers were accompanied by instrumental bells. The country’s Bossa Nova, Sitti, also graced the occasion and rendered a relaxed and cool vibe through her song numbers.

Sponsors Phoenix Petroleum and Family Mart helped made the event more memorable. Phoenix PULSE fuel items and merchandise were raffled off, while many motorists were oriented to the superior line of Phoenix lubricants that suit supercars, like those in the show. For its part, Family Mart gave away samples of its Coffee Creations for a quick caffeine fix.
