Tech Review: Lenovo Yoga 7i is an impressive convertible laptop at less price

First impressions last and Lenovo Yoga 7i can be a testament to that. The new 2-in-1 notebook from the laptop brand’s ever-impressive Yoga line crosses the line in terms of bringing most of the premium features of a convertible Windows PC at a reasonable price.

Tech and Lifestyle Journal had the privilege to experience Lenovo Yoga 7i and all we can say is that it has unwavering impressiveness since Day 1. This convertible PC surely makes productivity as enjoyable as leisure, thanks to its outstanding features and superb versatility.

Physical design

Lenovo Yoga 7i is inarguably a laptop that is beautifully crafted. The 14-inch PC weighs just about 1.5 kilograms (about 3.2 pounds)—a good size for a laptop and small enough to be a tablet any user can easily and conveniently bring along anywhere he/she goes.

The rounded edges make this notebook comfortable to handle, carry, and use. Those also make it possible to type minus hurting the wrists. The aluminum body brings a light but solid feel, complemented by a tightly engineered chassis that facilitates minimal flex and a more sophisticated look.

The hinge is another important design feature that Lenovo Yoga 7i has focused on. That makes shifting from laptop mode to tablet and stand modes easy and fast. The 360-degree hinge brings about confidence as it is neither too hard nor too loose in any mode.

Of course, not to be missed is the good set of keyboards that maintain the Lenovo tradition of providing a comfortable feel when typing. Each keyboard piece exudes the ideal springiness in every stroke and brings about the signature scalloped key design that is tactile and visually delightful. The big touchpad is another reason to rave about it.

Screen, speakers, and webcam

Lenovo Yoga 7i has an impressive screen that is obviously carefully and meticulously designed to do the job. To begin with, the screen serves as both a laptop display and a touchscreen when the PC is in tablet mode. The glossy surface makes way for a 10-point touch screen that also accommodates active stylus use (the stylus is included in the unit).

The 16:10 aspect ratio brings more space for display and works better when in tablet mode. The screen also comes in 2.8K OLED and 100% DCI-P3 display. Thus, the display remains colorful and sharp whether the user is working on live documents or enjoying videos. Moreover, the low blue-light technology helps reduce eye fatigue even when in long use.

Complementing those scree features is the equally ideal audio quality. Lenovo Yoga 7i combines stereo speakers, dual woofers, and tweeters. This array supports Dolby Atmos. The audio system even has Smart Amplifier that can further boost the volume if needed.

The FHD webcam is better than usual with 1080p resolution for a decent picture and video quality. It is equipped with a privacy shutter that can serve as instant protection against hacking and unauthorized surveillance.

Next-generation performance

Performance-wise, Lenovo Yoga 7i is powerful, thanks to the 13th Gen Intel Core mobile processors that deliver a superb laptop experience. Up to eight cores and 16 threads create an impressive processing power, making this PC ideal for demanding tasks like video editing, 3D modeling, and even gaming (but don’t compare it yet to the powerhouse gaming PCs in the market).

Intel 10nm SuperFin technology delivers high performance while using less power—leading to longer battery life and reduced heat output. Also supported by the processors are advanced features like Wi-Fi 6E, Thunderbolt 4, and PCIe 5.0 for faster data transfer speeds and better connectivity.

The improved AI capabilities facilitate faster and more accurate image and voice recognition as well as enhanced performance in machine learning applications.

As indicated on the sticker, Lenovo Yoga 7i is Intel Evo certified, which was obtained under strict criteria for modern thin and light PCs. This also indicates that the PC meets requirements for superior performance and improved user experience.

The vast RAM and internal storage make it possible for this convertible laptop to function well even where there are multiple browsers and apps being used at the same time.

Other features and pricing

For users who are always on the go, the Lenovo Yoga 7i is an ideal laptop as it has a 71-watt-hour battery capacity with Rapid Charge Express that makes it possible to charge it for a 3-hour battery capacity in just 15 minutes.

The Lenovo Yoga 7i is now available for about ₱76,995. Available colors are Storm Grey and Tidal Teal.

Conclusion

Though there are minor limitations we have discovered while using the Lenovo Yoga 7i (actually, those are almost negligible and tolerable), Tech and Lifestyle Journal maintains that this 2-in-1 convertible Windows laptop is an overall standout. The price tag is in the middle-level range for its category but can be considered reasonable compared to most other convertibles in the market today (and given all the impressive features).

The whole experience is impressive and for sure, using this PC will make you look at productivity, creativity, and leisure from a whole new perspective. The versatility can never be underrated. Tech and Lifestyle Journal highly recommends Lenovo Yoga 7i.
