Your car may have the best seats that led you to purchase it. However, as time goes by, you may find it inevitable to install customized seats to make yourself and your family more comfortable when traveling, especially to far-flung land destinations.
During the recent 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, Tech and Lifestyle Journal met a representative from Toyo Seat Philippines Corporation, one of the auto-accessory companies focused on offering and selling the best car seats in the local market.
Toyo Seat recommends the following considerations when looking for replacement car seats:
- Choose a baby-friendly or child-friendly car seat, especially for the toddler in the family. A convertible car seat could eventually evolve and be adjusted as the baby or toddler grows into a young child.
- If you intend to do it yourself, choose car seats that are simple and easy to install. Remember that a properly installed seat must always be safe especially when traveling to far places.
- Ensure safety by choosing seats that have been evaluated by independent crash-testing parties. Take note of the safety ratings and the individual safety features.
- Go for seats that have been field-tested. There is no need to conduct your own crash test. Focus on how the seats would perform when subject to various conditions.
- Let yourself and your family try the seats first to see if those will render overall comfort, especially at the back and leg areas.
- Go for materials that would not irritate the skin or those that would not cause unnecessary sweating.
- Be sure the seats fit well in the car’s interior.
