Are you in the mood to be a superhero or a super-villain today? Would you rather devise or foil an evil plan while on the road? The choice is yours to take when you use your ever-reliable Waze app from September 1 to October 31, 2020.
Yes, Waze is getting a Gotham City-themed makeover as it joins the world in honoring the 81-year-old Batman, days after the first trailer for the new cape crusader movie was released.
The app has inked a partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) and DC to bring Batman and The Riddler to the road. Activate the Batman experience now on Waze and choose which character to assume as you aim to outsmart traffic.
You will get directions from the voices of either Kevin Conroy (Batman’s voice in the animated series since the 1990s) or Wally Wingert (The Riddler’s voice in the video game series). This limited-period feature is available globally in English, Spanish, and Portuguese languages.
It doesn’t end there. You can also opt to change your Waze car icons so you could hop into the Batmobile or The Riddler’s racer. Furthermore, you can listen to the Waze and DC Super Hero or Super-Villain playlists that are now available on music streaming app Spotify while driving via the Waze Audio Player feature.
“We are so excited to be partnering with WBCP and DC to bring this experience to our users,” said Waze Head of Brand Programs Erin Bellsey. “Given the year we’ve had, I think we all need some superhero support to guide our way, and we can’t think of a better way to do it than with the first-ever Waze program that features two iconic characters’ Voice navigation, Moods, and Cars. We’re also thrilled to be working with our Audio Player partner, Spotify, to bring the experience to life with fun music for drivers around the world.”
Meanwhile, WBCP Global Brand Product Senior Vice President Robert Oberschelp is confident this will take fans’ imagination to new places. “By partnering with Waze on this innovative interactive program, we are giving fans the opportunity to get behind the wheel of their own reimagined Batmobile as the iconic DC Super Hero Batman who is known for having incredible gadgets and the coolest vehicles.”
