The holiday traffic rush is very much anticipated now that Christmas draws near. In line with this, traffic navigation app Waze released information on the expected timings of possible traffic jams this holiday season, from Christmas weekend to New Year.
The Waze Holiday Driving Data 2017 report contains traffic predictions not just in the Philippines but also in neighboring countries of Singapore and Malaysia. It based its information on data and insights (total drivers per hour) it gathered during the same period in 2016 from its community of users in this part of the region (big data).
In the Philippines, particularly in Metro Manila, Waze expects Friday, December 22 to be the worst day to drive this Christmas. Waze is warning drivers not to go out between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., which it tagged as the worst time in the worst day to drive this long Christmas weekend.
