Following the success of the 7th World Travel Expo in December 2023, Ad Asia Events Group OPC (Ad Asia Events) has announced the World Travel Fair – Regional Series, which is set from March 15 to 17, 2024 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Glorietta 4 Ayala Center, Makati City.
The upcoming World Travel Fair will kick off the summer travel season with numerous curated deals and sale promos facilitated in a single shopping venue in one of the most popular shopping destinations in the metro. The three-day event will gather the biggest names and brands in travel and related industries—top-billed by RCBC Credit Cards that will offer to convert cardholders’ purchases in payment installments ranging from 3 months to 36 months on top of free travel insurance and travel protection upon international flight bookings and purchase of travel packages during the event. RCBC cardholders will also enjoy free admission into the fair.
“We are proud to bring the World Trade Fair – Regional Series that will pave the way for the biggest annual trade event this year, the World Trade Expo. Our Metro Manila leg, the first in the series of fairs nationwide, promises to be an exciting travel event that travelers in the Philippines should not miss,” said Mildred ‘Miles’ Caballero, Ad Asia Events Managing Director.
Continuing revenge travel trend
The World Travel Fair under the World Travel Expo comes as revenge travel continues to be a growing trend among travel enthusiasts in the country, who are making up for the lost time when domestic and international travels were restricted due to the global Covid-19 pandemic in the past years.
Aside from the higher volume of travels to domestic travels in 2023, trips to international destinations especially in Asia (with China, Singapore, and Japan topping the list) have been increasing, based on data released by the Department of Tourism.
Findings of research released by advertising firm GrabAds even show that seven in 10 Filipinos plan for leisurely overseas travel at least once in 2023 to 2024, while up to 82% of poll respondents prepare for two international trips in the same period.
Big event for travelers
The World Travel Fair aims to be a venue connecting travel enthusiasts to their dream vacation destinations this year and beyond. Big names to occupy exhibition booths include Air Asia, Taiwan Tourism Administration, Club Wyndham Asia, Philippine Retirement Authority, Villa Excellance Beach and Wave Pool Resort, Anantara Vacation Club, WorldMaster International, Berjaya Hotel Makati, Malayan Insurance, Travellers International Hotel Group Inc., JY Travel and Tours, Subic Metropolitan Authority, and the Manila Ocean Park.
The World Travel Fair will also introduce Innovator, the newest luggage brand that Filipino travelers can consider during their revenge travels. New travel app Travereel will also roll out activities that will make the event even more interesting and fun.
Taking the highlight will be affordable vacation deals and packages that will instantly entice domestic and international travel enthusiasts. More special offerings will be rolled out by airlines, resorts, travel agencies, tourism destinations, and other partner merchants. Discounted visa applications (to destinations where applicable) will also be facilitated during the fair.
The World Travel Fair – Regional Series, Manila leg will run from March 15 to 17, 2024 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Glorietta 4, Ayala Center, Makati City. It is supported by the Department of Tourism and co-presented by RCBC along with other partners—Club Wyndham Asia as Gold Sponsor, Berjaya Hotel Makati as Official Hotel Partner, and Bronze Sponsors: Taiwan Tourism Administration, Philippine Retirement Authority, Villa Excellance Beach and Wave Pool Resort. Featured exhibitors include Innovator and Travereel, while Event Partners are PATA Philippines LPU-Manila Student Chapter, WorldMaster International Travel, and Philippine Tourism & Travel Magazine.
