PH’s top business leaders convene for World Vision’s CSR Summit

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, World Vision, a child-focused humanitarian agency, has organized a two-day virtual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit, participated by top business leaders in the Philippines.

Entitled as “Doing Good is Good Business,” World Vision’s CSR Summit talked about the value of doing Corporate Social Responsibility amid the pandemic.

The first day of the summit showcased ways on how a business can survive by protecting its stakeholders. The speakers’ line-up from the corporate, private, and public sectors included Ms. Maribeth Marasigan of Aboitiz Foundation, Mr. Guillermo Luz of Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, Mr. RJ Cabaluna of Grab PH, and Mr. Carlos Barrera of Lazada E-Services Philippines Inc.

The speakers from the different companies showed how they have chosen to help their internal and external stakeholders despite the health and economic crisis. They also discussed the state of the pandemic’s socio-economic effect on the country and the various efforts of the public-private sector in alleviating this.

Meanwhile, the second day of the conference tackled how CSR affects brand positioning and awareness, and how to successfully engage the employees, customers, and other stakeholders. Speakers of the second day were Mr. Norman Agatep of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), Ms. Angela Totanes of Robinsons Supermarket Corporation, Ms. Anna Legarda-Locsin of Procter & Gamble, Ms. Louisa Mila V. Echevarria of People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), Ms. Pamela Donato of Conduent, and Ms. Kit Sison of Willis Towers Watson.

The second half of the second day centered on how CSR activities and programs can help create a good brand and how companies can foster a good relationship with its internal stakeholders led by its employees.
