The country’s finest digital videos were given recognition during the inaugural YouTube Ad Awards in the Philippines. The best and most effective professionals in digital storytelling were gathered on Thursday (May 10) at the BGC Arts Center for the awarding ceremony.
On its first year, YouTube Ads Awards gave away a total of 31 prizes. Those included an Ad of the Year Award, four Crystal Awards, six Second Prizes, and 20 Third Prizes. A Crystal Award is the most elusive and is given only if a nominated entry gets a specific percentage of votes from a strict panel of judges, which also comprise of marketers and storytellers. The Second and Third prizes are also conferred when an entry obtains a specific number of votes from judges. Some entries won multiple awards across 17 categories.
“Filipino creativity and imagination is on full display with tonight’s awardees,” said Google Philippines Country Marketing Manager Gabby Roxas. “We’ve seen how digital advertising, in its many narratives and formats, can deeply engage audiences and give them a truly satisfying experience on platforms like YouTube.
