You can now experience ‘kilig’ anytime, wherever you could be! Contemporary Filipino publishing house Bookshelf PH has launched Audiophile, a new audiobook platform that brings a new sensory experience to its growing library of romance titles.
Audiophile, which is now available on Early Access (providing access to users prior to official launch), now translates contemporary, Tagalog, and LGBTQIA+ romance books into audiobooks—for more people to instantly appreciate and enjoy.
“There’s a certain intimacy with audiobooks that marries well with romance fiction,” said Audiophile Executive Creative Director Monette Quiogue. “When you listen to a story, the world melts away, and it becomes just you and the narrator. It’s easy to get lost in their love life—and yes, all the kilig—in the format.”
Extensive production
Every audiobook in Audiophile is exclusive to the platform. All of those were produced in-house utilizing best-in-class production standards, supervised by a lead audio engineer who oversees production for over 50 global titles. Every title in Audiophile has been subject to extensive pre-production, editing, QA, mixing, and mastering.
“We’ve been able to produce audiobooks that achieve world-class standards for the medium,” said Audiophile Executive Producer Gloryen Limbo. “Beyond the tech, we’re most excited for what this means for listeners. The audio platform aims to elevate the Filipino audiobook industry to the level it has achieved in other literary markets. Audiobooks represent a new, more convenient way to experience Pinoy stories. Bringing literature to a new platform
Initially, Audiophile is focused on romance—a genre that is not only among the most loved by Filipinos. At the same time, it showcases the best side of audiobooks as no one can really underestimate the kilig effect.
Aside from bringing literature into a new platform, audiobooks also open an additional revenue stream for authors and publishers. At the same time, it brings in new opportunities for affiliated industries like voice acting.
