(Press Release)
RDB starts the new year with a spring in its step, as it extends operations to the Lion City with its newest Singaporean partner and local expert, Sherman Tan. As one of Southeast Asia’s trading capitals and home to most International organizations’ Asian hubs, it was no surprise that Singapore was the chosen destination for RDB APAC’s first step out of Manila. Despite stringent travel restrictions currently in place in most of Asia, in good RDB form, it all happened virtually through varying time zones and without any RDB team member ever setting foot on Singapore.
Building a bridge towards their Southeast Asian neighbor did not happen overnight. The foundation was laid by two old confidantes and work colleagues. RDB APAC’s Managing Partner, Jerianne Ejercito, and Sherman Tan are old buddies in the world of Media in the region. Both made waves together during the last Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) hosted in the Philippines, teaming up with Havas Ortega to bring the sporting event’s marketing to life. Their already proven partnership has planted not only a seed of friendship, but confidence and trust in each other’s ability to work across borders, markets, and competencies. Years later, they find themselves chasing the same north star once again, this time under the RDB banner, inspired by the same ideals in building a more sustainable Asia Pacific.
With more than 30 years of experience in Sponsorship, Commercial Partnership Development and Event Management across the region, Sherman is an invaluable resource and addition to the team’s Asia Pacific leadership. His expertise in the market and well-cultivated relationships in Singapore compliment the regional team’s experience in Indochina. So, it comes to no surprise that those specific countries are to be the focus of his work for RDB – helping build and nurture connections with like-minded brands and organizations in the region to further develop and successfully build RDB’s commercial business together with the APAC team.
With a friend and ally in Singapore, RDB Asia Pacific is dreaming big for 2022. With projects already lined up for the year, the regional office has its eyes set on growing its portfolio of clients in several countries in Asia. While on the operational front, RDB APAC is looking to expand its team even further. Currently recruiting a sales team that would support both the agency and its sister consulting company, Allmende in its future ventures in Asia Pacific and beyond.
