Fastfood giant Jollibee is sealing 2017 with another heartwarming video ad that has already hit the viral status. This time, the company is paying tribute to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their selfless love for their families.
The latest #KwentongJollibee entitled ‘Pamasko’ (‘Christmas Gift’) highlights the common plight and sacrifices of OFWs just to provide the children and extended families they left home a more comfortable life and brighter future. It also describes the longing and yearning of OFWs’ kids to simply spend Christmas with their parents—an elusive gift that most of the time takes lots of years to happen.
Jollibee has again tapped director Ianco dela Cruz to be at the helm of the short film. Dela Cruz also directed the popular Valentine video ad ‘Vow,’ which kicked off the brand’s Valentine series in February this year. ‘Pamasko’ was produced in partnership with the national carrier, Philippine Airlines.
As of press time, the Christmas viral video ad has already generated over 1.6 million views on YouTube (Jollibee Philippines Channel). It was uploaded online on Friday (December 15, 2017). At the same time, it has been viewed more than 2.6 million times through Jollibee’s Facebook page. You can watch the video here:
