Robi Domingo reprises ‘Lakwatsero’ moniker for a new online travel series

In 2014, ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs aired a special documentary—Lakwatsero sa Hokkaido—that featured TV host Robi Domingo and his travel adventures exploring the winter wonderland of the popular tourist hotspot in Japan.

After four years, DocuCentral (the documentary team of ABS-CBN Integrated News) is bringing back Lakwatsero. Now in a new format and new travel itineraries, the show is still topbilled by the 28-year-old TV host, who has been vocal about his gratitude for finally having a show he can call his very own.

The digital travel series follows Domingo’s six-week journey to six provinces—Samar, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Davao del Sur, Cebu, and Bukidnon. The goal is to showcase each destination’s attractions, from great outdoor adventures to mouthwatering delicacies and the unwavering hospitality of the locals.

Six-week online show

The online series will have 18 episodes (or webisodes), each lasting about five to seven minutes of breathtaking views and adventures. Lakwatsero was made possible through the support of Cebu Pacific Air, the local carrier with the most extensive route network across the country.

Go Hotels and Summit Hotels and Resorts provided accommodations to Domingo and his 12-man crew while filming the documentary in various sites in all six featured provinces. At the same time, Domingo was equipped with OPPO for his selfies and other vlog updates.

The perfect ‘Lakwatsero

When asked why and how Domingo fits the bill as the online Lakwatsero, ABS-CBN DocuCentral Head Francis Toral said they could not imagine anybody else doing the webisodes. “The Lakwatsero brand has always been associated with Robi,” she said. “He’s smart, adventurous, he loves trying anything and new things, he’s very easy to work with, so he’s our perfect host.”

Lakwatsero will premiere on Monday (January 29), at exactly 6 p.m. simultaneously over the Life Section of ABS-CBNNews.com, the official ABS-CBN News Facebook page, and the official ABS-CBN News YouTube channel.

From then on, new webisodes will be uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 6 p.m. for six consecutive weeks.

Update: You can watch the first webisode here. This post will also be constantly updated to include succeeding episodes.
