KFC celebrates opening of 400th store in PH

KFC Philippines has mounted a grand opening for its 400th store in the Philippines. The new KFC branch, which is also the brand’s 100th local store with a full Drive-Thru feature, is located along Highway 2000 in Rizal Technopark in Taytay, Rizal.

The 400th KFC Philippines store is also the second KFC location in Taytay and is one of the biggest locations of the brand in the province.

KFC Philippines celebrated this new milestone by rolling out enticing deals and exciting activities on the first operational day of KFC Highway 2000. The first 20 customers who lined up prior to the official store opening were surprised when one of the brand’s three musical ambassadors, singer and songwriter Adie, not just appeared in the store but also personally served their orders.

Grand opening

Adie also gave away freebies and merchandise items aside from of course, posing for selfies and photos with the lucky customers. The new store also offered good deals and freebies throughout the day. The first 100 Drive-thru customers, on the other hand, enjoyed free large Funshots if they reached a minimum single receipt food purchase of ₱250.

“Our thrust is to continue expanding to more areas and provinces across the country,” said KFC Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Charmaine Pamintuan. “Every time we open a new store, we know that there is much anticipation and excitement. Many locals look forward to enjoying our finger-lickin’ good chicken. At the same time, we provide job opportunities to more people.”

KFC Highway 2000 is also one of the over 60 KFC Philippines stores that are solar-powered. “KFC is committed to sustainability. Aside from using sustainable and recyclable packaging, we are proud to assure freshness as we produce our own chicken,” said Pamintuan, who also revealed that there are stores that employ senior citizens and personnel regardless of age, gender, or race.

KFC chain expansion

KFC Philippines ended 2023 with 382 stores. According to KFC General Manager Jojo Marcelo, many stores are set to open in December and early 2025. “I am happy to be part of the 400th store opening. When I joined KFC, we only had 28 stores,” she said, adding that another KFC store was set to open that same day (November 29) in SOMO (A Vista Mall) in Bacoor, Cavite.

The brand, a unit of Ramcar Food Group, is also prioritizing expansion through franchising these days. To date, KFC Philippines is operating about 50 sub-franchises—franchised stores that are managed and operated by the company. A local KFC franchise may cost about ₱19 million to ₱40 million, depending on the store size and location.
