Cebu Pacific starts direct Manila-Shenzhen flights

Shenzhen is now the fifth destination catered to by Cebu Pacific Air in mainland China. The low-cost airline has started flying four times weekly to the bustling tourist spot, which is part of Guangdong Province and the thriving Pearl River Delta metropolis.

Cebu Pacific’s 27th international destination has schedules running every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. It now flies 23 times every week between the Philippines and mainland China—including direct flights between Shanghai, Manila, and Cebu; and Manila and Beijing, Guangzhou, and Xiamen.

Moreover, the carrier also flies up to 55 times weekly between Hong Kong and Manila, Cebu, Iloilo, and Clark and up to 20 times weekly between Macau and Manila, Cebu, and Clark. There are also 14 flights weekly between Manila and Taipei in Taiwan.

“We want to provide our travelers a viable option to reach some of the most crucial commercial centers in the world,” said Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog. “Our new direct service between Manila and Shenzhen will enable faster movement of people and products providing increased mobility and access in some of the fastest-growing economies in the world.”

Shenzhen is considered the Silicon Valley of China in terms of tech hardware. It is among the mainland’s leading innovation and tech hubs, serving as a center for tech giants like Huawei, Tencent, BYD, and BGI.
