Sun Life Grepa Financial, Inc. (Sun Life Grepa) is now protecting the lives of around 2.9 million Filipinos. The number of policyholders exceeds the five-year target of 2.5 million policies by 2020.
In a recent disclosure, the life insurance firm also reported a 48% jump in net income in 2019. The company also increased its agency force by 22%. Thus, Sun Life Grepa maintains a promising outlook as it is poised to continue its streak of successes from 2019.
“All these achievements were driven by our commitment to the Filipino people,” said Sun Life Grepa President Richard Lim. “We were especially inspired in 2019, as we celebrated our company’s 65th anniversary. This 2020, we have the momentum to aim for more, as we strive to provide our clients with new ways of growing and protecting their goals with us. It is always by listening to their needs that we are able to continue providing such levels of service.”
Aggressive efforts
Sun Life Grepa has recently rolled out its Sun Grepa PH app as well as its new online client portal called My Sun Life Grepa. Both initiatives are aimed at providing the insurer’s clients more convenience for the management of their respective policies.
It has also launched several other products in the past months. Those include the Sun Grepa Care, a health protection plan providing coverage for pre-retiree and retiree stages; Sun Grepa Power Builder 100, a variable universal life (VUL) insurance plan offering a combined benefit of insurance protection and investment with coverage until age 100; and Sun Grepa Peso Asset Builder, limited-offer VUL insurance plan providing easy access to global investment opportunities.
On top of these are two new VUL fund options that are also made available to customers: SLG Global Growth Fund—which is available through Sun Grepa Power Builder Dollar 1; and the SLG Money market Fund—which is available through any of Sun Life Grepa’s peso-denominated VUL insurance plans for fund switching/transfer.
Reaching more Filipinos
Sun Life Grepa also revitalized a number of its sales offices. It aims to continue this effort for more of its centers this year and onwards.
“We look forward to reaching more Filipinos,” said Lim. “In the years to come, we will continue to meet our commitment to help Filipinos build and protect their dreams through life and health protection as we continue to become their partner beyond a lifetime.”
Sun Life Grepa—formerly called Grepalife, the flagship life insurer of the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC)—is a joint venture of Sun Life Financial and YGC.
