After a successful Dota 2 tournament in 2019, Red Bull is bringing back its Red Bull River Runes this year. The energy drink is inviting players from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to go head-to-head in 1v1 Dota 2 battle.
Regional qualifiers will be facilitated digitally throughout the month (May 2020). The grand winner will have the chance to face a member of the back-to-back The International (TI) World Champions—OG.
Red Bull River Runes is a custom map built in the Dota 2 environment. The tournament offers players a fast-paced 1v1 mirror matchup that rewards intuition and the ability to make quick decisions. A player must first achieve three skills or score the first kill on an enemy T1 Tower to progress through the gaming event.
This tournament is open to all players aged 18 years and above, with their own Steam and Discord accounts. Qualifying rounds and the Philippine Finals will commence online on these dates:
May 8 and 9 – Mindanao Qualifier
May 15 and 16 – Visayas Qualifier
May 22 and 23 – Luzon Qualifier
May 29 – Last Chance Qualifier
May 30 – Philippine Finals (to be live-streamed via Lupon WXC)
June – 1v1 Finals with OG The International 2019 Champions
Registration to Red Bull River Runes is currently up through this link.
Update:
The Philippine Finals (in partnership with Gariath Concepts) is live-streamed on May 30, 2020 by Lupon Wombo X Combo. The National Finals Champion faces one member from team OG, The international tournament’s first-ever back-to-back champion, in a 1-versus-1 Dota 2 match.
