Multi-awarded youth volunteer group I am M.A.D. (Making A Difference) is spearheading a donation drive that aims to raise at least P200,000 in just 40 days. Proceeds of the initiative will be handed over as ‘ayuda’ to 20 school beneficiaries in mostly underprivileged and remote communities in the countryside—including schools in North Luzon (Benguet), select provinces in the Visayas, and Basilan in Mindanao.
Together with the National Youth Volunteers Coalition and the Youth Advocates for the Philippines, I am M.A.D. launched BIDA Eskwela donation campaign less than 60 days prior to the scheduled opening of the new school year in the country on August 24, 2020.
Using the social media hashtag #BIDAEskwelaKwarenta, the group calls on just about every Filipino to take part in this bayanihan and donate at least P40 from July 9 to August 17, 2020.
“Indeed, it is a challenging task for our government, specifically the Department of Education, to prepare schools in a different set up in such short notice,” said I am M.A.D. Co-Founder and Chief Executive Volunteer Maco Ravanzo. “But like them, we at I am M.A.D. are committed to our responsibility to help realize our youth’s right to education and make it thrive, even in the most difficult time. Let’s once again come together and provide the ‘ayuda’ our public education sector needs. We invite all to join this 40-day challenge and help us support our education frontliners.”
Funds to be generated will be allocated to each institution to provide additional aid in carrying out various distance learning delivery pursuits. Those may range from printing equipment and learning supplies (paper, photocopier machines, printer, ink, extra communication, or data load allowance) as well as essential health supplies like face masks and sanitizers.

*As of July 23, 2020, BIDA Eskwela has already raised P248,183.24—comprising of actual donations and few realigned I am M.A.D. funds. The group continues to collect additional donations though to benefit 10 additional school beneficiaries nationwide.
