Cebu Pacific issues advisory for foreign travelers regarding new Covid variant

Cebu Pacific is observing a temporary ban for foreign nationals flying to the Philippines from international destinations. This move is in adherence to the restrictions imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) due to the emergence of new variants of the Covid-19 virus.

In a recent advisory, the leading national carrier said the ban is effective from December 30, 2020 until January 15, 2021. During the period, only Filipino citizens will be allowed on the airline’s flights from Hong Kong, Singapore, Nagoya (Japan), and Seoul (South Korea).

Cebu Pacific will not accommodate foreign nationals who originated from, transited via, or visited within 14 days prior to arrival in the Philippines, any of the 20 countries specified in a corresponding IATF resolution. Those destinations include Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Australia, Israel, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Switzerland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lebanon, Singapore, Sweden, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, and Spain.

Affected passengers can avail any of these options:

  • Free rebooking within 90 days—waived rebooking fee and fare difference
  • Full travel fund, valid for 2 years
  • Full refund
