ASUS Philippines is venturing into short, digital films to further promote its recently launched Zenfone 4 series of dual-lens camera smartphones. The technology firm posted the first installment of a two-part digital short movie it produced on its Facebook page, which has a strong 25.1-million following.
The company has tapped its newest celebrity endorser, the Philippines’ New Generation Movie Queen and TV actress Bea Alonzo to star in the online film Never Let Me Forget.
“It’s something new for me and I thank ASUS for that experience of a lifetime,” said Alonzo during the local unveiling of the Zenfone 4 Series, wherein she was also launched as an ambassador for the brand. “I’m used to doing teleseryes and movies, this is my first time to do a digital movie. It was also my first time to work with a younger crew.”
Never Let Me Forget is a heart-warming story depicting a kind of healing through cherishing happy memories. Alonzo was joined by Matěj Loub, a Czech national who is currently based in the country. She revealed that Loub is not an actor and not even a fashion model, making his performance in the short film amazingly “raw.”
In the short flick, Alonzo played the character of Allete, who decided to part ways with her sweetheart Matěj (played by Loub himself) due to their irreconcilable differences. Their fun memories somehow helped them rekindle their waning connection.
Check out the first of two episodes of the short film here. The second part would be posted on ASUS Philippines’ Facebook page soon.
