Cebu Pacific kicks off 25th year celebration with month-long ₱25 seat sale

Cebu Pacific is celebrating its 25th year for the entire month through a special ₱25 seat sale. Until March 31, 2020, you can book on-sale flights to any domestic destination for just ₱25 (one-way base fee). Travel period is until December 21, 2021.

The country’s leading airline is kicking off its silver anniversary with the promo, which comes as travel restrictions continue to get less stringent nationwide. The promo also comes as people start looking forward to traveling again amid the renewed hope for recovery as Covid-19 cases become more controlled and the national vaccination program commences.

“On our 25th year, we remain humbled to be part of our passengers’ stories and life journeys,” said Cebu Pacific VP for Marketing and Customer Experience Candice Iyog. “We are in full support of the simplification of travel requirements, and expect to welcome more guests onto our flights in the coming months.”

The company is now operating about 22% of its pre-Covid network with 28 domestic destinations. Cebu Pacific has also disclosed that it is currently flying to six popular tourist destinations for leisure and travel. It has restored up to 86% so far of its pre-Covid operations in Boracay, Bacolod, Bohol, Cebu, Coron, and Siargao.

Aside from the 25 month-long seat sale, Cebu Pacific will also soon offer a 25% discount for flight add-ons and roll out its trademark piso sale. Tech and Lifestyle Journal will keep you updated on these major promos.

Milestones in 25 years

Cebu Pacific has truly come a long way since its first flight from Manila to Cebu on March 8, 1996. It has since kept its commitment to fly where Filipinos are at the most competitive rates possible. The carrier flew to its first international destination, Hong Kong, in 2001. It rolled out its first low-cost long-haul flight to Dubai in 2013.

In 2008, Cebu Pacific acquired its first ATR 72-500, which bolstered its inter-island connection and expanded its domestic network. In 2004, it pioneered its most aggressive piso seat sale, making it the country’s top airline with the most sought-after promo fares.

Aside from its own milestones, Cebu Pacific has also facilitated numerous passenger moments in its 25-year history. In 2016, a passenger flying from Dubai to Manila gave birth en route while another passenger got the surprise of his life upon his arrival in Cagayan de Oro in October 2017 when the company revealed that he was its 150 millionth passenger. The passengers also enriched the lives of kids in marginalized communities through their donations to UNICEF’s Change for Good program, which reached $1 million in 2019.

Cebu Pacific President and CEO Lance Gokongwei personally greeted Alfredo Cruz, the airline’s 150 millionth passenger on October 20, 2017. Part of the surprise was the handover of 150,000 GetGo points to Cruz.

“Throughout our 25 years, we have celebrated countless wonderful moments with our guests. We look forward to #MoreSmilesAhead as everyJuan flies again,” Iyog said.
