Regional digital infrastructure platform Digital Halo launches MNL1 Data Center

Emerging data center operator Digital Halo has officially launched its first and flagship data center site, MNL1 through a Filipiniana-themed grand inauguration on June 3, 2025.

MNL1 is the first of three buildings in the planned 70MW data center campus located in over 3-hectare freehold land parcel in a technology park in Cainta, Rizal, adjacent to Metro Manila. The location is strategic in mitigating risks of flooding, fault line movements, and volcanic activities. It is the only operating data center in Eastern Luzon.

During the launch, Digital Halo emphasized that MNL1 is supporting local and regional partners and has the capacity to back hyperscale, edge, enterprise, public sector, and other industries. The data center also offers services that include rackspace, colocation, hybrid cloud, managed/ carrier-neutral connectivity, and disaster recovery/ business continuity services. Such capabilities enable mission-critical operations and digital transformation for businesses of all sizes.

In his speech during the launch program, Digital Halo Co-founder and CEO Kai Goh said MNL1 is “a secure and future-ready platform for the Philippine digital economy.” “As digital services become essential across all industries, our mission is to bring the infrastructure closer to where it’s needed most–right here in the Philippines,” he said, emphasizing that MNL1 is more than just a data center as it is also a digital community.

Digital Halo Country Director Maricar Burgos Nepomuceno underlined the significance of MNL1 to local and regional businesses. She pointed out that Digital Halo and MNL1 welcome all telecom carriers and enterprises across all scales and industries. Nepomuceno also disclosed that the facility is sustainable and is designed to be AI-ready.

On the other hand, global private markets firm Partners Group, which has infused a US$400 million investment into Digital Halo expressed confidence in the country as a strategic digital hub. “We’re excited to have invested in Digital Halo, our most recent investment. We’ve been investing in data centers globally. This is our fourth data center investment globally and have been studying the data center landscape in Asia for a very long time. This could be the first and only data center investment we will have in Southeast Asia,” said Luv Parikh, Managing director, Infrastructure Asia Pacific of Switzerland-based Partners Group.

Digital Halo was announced and launched in 2023 as a new digital investment platform of regional real estate company Arch Capital, which in turn was originally established in 2006 as a joint venture with Ayala Group. Canada’s Manulife Investment Management took a minority share in the company in 2022.
