Press Release
For the second year in a row, DITO Telecommunity proudly joins hands with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Province of Ilocos Norte as a sponsor of the Palarong Pambansa 2025, a celebration not just of sports, but of unity, grit, and the unbreakable spirit of young Filipinos.
From May 24 to June 2, more than 15,800 student-athletes from 19 regions across the country will gather in Ilocos Norte to showcase their skills in 29 sporting events, including exciting new additions like Pencak Silat, and Weightlifting. But beyond the medals and the scoreboards, Palarong Pambansa is a homecoming. It is one that brings together families, cultures, and dreams from every corner of our archipelago.
This year’s theme, “Nagkakaisang Kapuluan,” reminds us of who we are as a nation: a people diverse in background, but united in purpose. It’s a theme that DITO embraces deeply. Just as the games highlight the strength and diversity of our young athletes, DITO’s mission is to connect every Filipino in the city, the barrio, or the most remote island with the power of communication, opportunity, and community.
“We at DITO believe in the incredible potential of the Filipino youth,” said Atty. Adel Tamano, Chief Revenue Officer of DITO Telecommunity. “Through sports, we witness their discipline, courage, and heart. That’s why it’s such an honor for us to continue supporting Palarong Pambansa, for the second straight year, because these athletes represent the best of who we are. They are the future. And DITO is here to make sure that no matter where they come from, they are seen, heard, and celebrated.”
Inspired by Teófilo Yldefonso, Ilocos Norte’s first Olympic medalist and a proud symbol of perseverance, the 65th edition of Palarong Pambansa pays tribute to stories of hope, heritage, and hard work. And DITO is right there, cheering from the sidelines, powering up connectivity in key venues, and sharing every milestone with the rest of the country.
As the nation’s youngest telco, DITO is deeply rooted in the Filipino dream. And this May, that dream takes center stage in Ilocos Norte, where thousands of student-athletes will run, swim, kick, serve, and soar not just for gold, but for pride, for family, and for the country they love.
Because when the whole country comes together to support its youth, that’s when true greatness shines.Beyond the medals and the podium finishes, DITO sees the power of togetherness, the friendships formed, the teamwork displayed, and the shared pride of communities rallying behind their young athletes.
“Each athlete brings their own story of hard work and determination,” Tamano added. “But it’s when they come together that something even more powerful happens: a narrative of unity, hope, and national pride that resonates far beyond the playing fields.”
As part of its commitment, DITO will actively join the Opening Ceremony on May 24 at the FEM Stadium, alongside President Ferdinand “Bong-Bong” Marcos, Jr., Olympic gold-star medalist, Hildilyn Diaz, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, DepEd officials, Ilocos Norte’s local leaders, athletes, coaches, trainers, and thousands of supportive families. It will be a day filled with excitement, pride, and celebration.

In true DITO fashion, attendees can expect fun activities, engaging games, and exclusive treats at the GalingDITO booths, designed to celebrate talent and bring people together in the spirit of the games.
“We’re thrilled to be part of this historic gathering once again,” Tamano shared. “Through our GalingDITO platform, we want to highlight and celebrate the excellence of the Filipino youth not just in sports, but in life. Because when we invest in our young people, we invest in a brighter, stronger Philippines.”
From the court to the classroom, and now to the heart of Ilocos Norte, DITO Telecommunity continues its journey of building a more connected and empowered youth– one game, one voice, and one unified nation.
