DTI facilitates biggest and hybrid edition of National Food Fair until June 5

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP), in cooperation with the DTI Regional Operations Group (ROG), is bringing the biggest domestic trade event back to a physical site after over two years of lockdowns, physical distancing, and other stringent pandemic protocols.

The 2022 Hybrid National Food Fair gathers over 250 food businesses from across 16 regions nationwide, in a huge venue—the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City until June 5, 2022.

For the first time, the National Food Fair is coming in a hybrid edition—there is a simultaneous virtual event through the Lazada e-commerce platform. The online event features at least 70 of the micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of the 250 trade exhibitors at the physical location.

The five-day trade event facilitates order taking, business-matching, and retail activities of the most innovative and sustainable food products in the country with unique and eco-friendly packaging. It also showcases table and kitchen linens, kitchen utensils, tableware, cooking tools made of native materials, and dining room furniture and décor. There are even essential items for players in the hotel and restaurant industry.

“After having endured the difficulties of the past two years, I am very happy to see that our MSMEs are back. They are now better prepared to face the challenges ahead and better equipped with new knowledge and skills to seize the opportunities of the hybrid, borderless marketplace,” said DTI-BDTP Director Marievic Bonoan during the event’s opening ceremony on June 1.

All exhibitors at the 2022 Hybrid National Food Fair are also featured in the Sisidlan digital catalog, which can be downloaded for free through this link. The businesses’ products are showcased in full-color photos with direct access to their digital stores, social media pages, and contact information.
