Here’s another reason to make Friday your movie-date day, at least until March. Visa and Ayala Malls Cinemas have teamed up for the promo ‘Fri-dates with Visa,’ which is entitling any Visa contactless card (credit or debit) user to a complimentary popcorn.
To avail of this promotional freebie, purchase two movie tickets and pay with your Visa contactless card at any of the 19 participating Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide. Visa contactless cards come with chip cards that use RFID or NFC technology to facilitate a tap-and-go payment system (simply tap the card near a point-of-sale terminal equipped with the contactless payment technology).
Fri-dates with Visa is part of Visa’s continuous efforts to expand its contactless acceptance at more merchant partners across the country. The adoption of contactless payments at Ayala Malls Cinemas brings greater convenience and payment options for Filipinos who are embracing a cashless lifestyle. Contactless terminals have just been installed in Ayala Malls Cinemas in partnership with Global Payments.
“We’ve seen more Filipinos use their contactless cards for shopping and entertainment purchases since we introduced this secure and convenient mode of payment a couple of years ago,” said Visa Country Manager for the Philippines and Guam Dan Wolbert. “Contactless payments are steadily increasing and are being embraced as a payment of choice by Filipinos. Based on our data, we noted a high double-digit year-on-year increase in contactless spend and transactions.”
