About 900 employers from the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia are set to simultaneously roll out IT- and digital-related job opportunities through JobStreet’s latest career fair from March 9 to 11, 2022.
The online job board is teaming up with technology news site Tech in Asia (TIA) for ‘Hire the Future,’ which will be the biggest career fair for online job hunters across the region.
This region-wide program is also aligned with JobStreet parent company SEEK Asia’s ‘Let’s Get To Work’ campaign, which is continuously evolving and is encouraging participation and empowerment in the workforce. The portal is also aimed at connecting more job seekers with the top companies in the region for access to more job openings that will be deemed more meaningful for them.
“It has always been at the core of JobStreet to provide jobs that matter,” said JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca. “We are grateful to partner with Tech in Asia in launching Asia’s biggest career fair to bring the freshest and most in-demand tech and digital jobs to each country, especially now that job markets are ready for digital transformation.”
IT and tech jobs for Filipinos
In the Philippines, over 80,000 job vacancies will be posted on the platform—with more than 2,000 of those as tech jobs. The opportunities are being offered by over 200 notable companies, including Globe, ePLDT, ING Bank, BDO Unibank, and Cognizant.
Over 1,000 jobs across the country will be directly related to IT like IT Helpdesk, IP Network Engineer, IT Developer, and Java Developer, among others. According to JobStreet Philippines, the digital shift is opening more career opportunities in JAVA, Cloud, IT Development, and SQL, to name a few.
“The pandemic has altered the way the labor market is behaving. We are highlighting the need for tech and digital jobs, which are roles that have been most resilient during and potentially after the pandemic compared to those requiring manual interventions,” Gioca explained. He added that the job market is ripe for digital transformation through the recruitment of digital natives, digital enablers, and tech-savvy individuals.
Mobile-first interface
‘Hire the Future’ virtual career fair will have a mobile-first interface to facilitate seamless and virtual participation of employers and job candidates. They can access the online platform for on-the-spot recruitment through real-time connection via chat and online interview schedulers.
Companies like foodpanda, Xendit, YouTrip, Carousell, GCash, Grab, and Gojek, among others, will hold virtual office tours as well as masterclasses featuring career talks and tips available on-demand via the fair’s website during the career fair period. This will also give way for possible interaction between those firms and the jobseekers.
