Most banks in the country are taking a long break for the observance of Holy Week. As part of the banking tradition, banks are generally shutting down operations on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday (which are regular non-working holidays), but are keeping their ATM sites and POS (point-of-sale) services accessible for customers who may need cash and who may need to make payments to establishments.
If you need to make transactions during this long holiday weekend, here is a list of banking schedules plus special announcements by banks covering the period March 29 (Maundy Thursday) to April 1 (Easter Sunday):
PSBank
All PSBank branches will be closed on March 29 and 30.
The bank announced that all its 609 ATMS nationwide will be online. PSBank Mobile and PSBank Online (internet banking) services and facilities will also be available during the long Holy Week weekend.
All payroll crediting om March 29 and 30 will still proceed. For bills payments, accounts with due date on March 29 and 30 will proceed, while payments for PSBank loans will be value dated on its original date and accounts will be debited on April 2. Accounts not debited on March 29 and 30 due to insufficient funds must be funded by April 2 to prevent penalties.
Clearing of checks are suspended on March 29 and 30. Checks received after cut-off time on March 28 will be processed on April 2. Meanwhile, no penalties will be charged for check dated March 29 and 30, intended for PSBank loan payments.
BDO
All branches (including those in malls) will be closed from March 29 to April 1.
BDO announced a regular network maintenance scheduled on March 30 from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. During this 5-hour period, all transactions using BDO Debit and Cash Cards (local and international) will be temporarily put on hold (ATM withdrawals, POS payments, phone banking, online banking, and mobile banking).
BPI and BPI Savings
All branches and kiosks will be closed from March 29 to April 1.
Online payments done within the period will be posted on April 3. Regular banking operations resume on April 2. Other transactions (ATM withdrawals, POS payments, online banking, and mobile banking) are facilitated.
Metrobank
All branches of Metrobank will be closed on March 30 (Good Friday). While most of the bank’s branches are also closed on March 29 and March 31, there are several locations that would open on special schedules:
NAIA 3 and Alabang (JM Building, West Service Road) branches are open from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on March 29. The following provincial locations will also be open at the same time: Batangas (Main, Lipa, Balayan, Bauan, Nasugbu, Lemery, Lipa Cathedral, Lipa Tambo, Mabini, and Sto. Tomas), Pinamalayan in Oriental Mindoro, Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro, Calapan, Tagaytay, Rosario in Cavite, Bacoor, Naic, Lucena, Candelaria, Iriga, Naga, Legazpi, Albay, Balanga in Bataan, Catbalogan, Tacloban, Ormoc, Sogod, Maasin in Southern Leyte, Borongan, Guiuan, and Palo Cathedral.
Branches in NAIA 3 and Ayala Center Mall in Cebu will be open on March 31 (6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., respectively).
UnionBank
All UnionBank branches will be closed from March 29 to April 1.
RCBC
All RCBC branches will be closed from March 29 to April 1.
China Bank
All China Bank branches will be closed from March 29 to April 1. At the same time, all ATMs and online services will be unavailable during the period.
Security Bank
All Security Bank branches will be closed from March 29 to April 1. The bank is also implementing a scheduled system maintenance on March 29 and Match 30, which will result to limited cash withdrawals allowed on its ATMS and restricted use of ATM and debit cards for purchases (in stores or online).
Landbank
All Landbank branches will be closed from March 29 to April 1. Check clearing will also be suspended during the period.
EastWest Bank
All branches of EastWest Bank will be closed on March 29 and 30. Select branches (mostly in malls) will open on March 31 and April 1.
