For a limited period, beep cardholders can earn reward points whenever they use their beep cards to pay for their ride. Through the beep Rewards promo, the tap-to-pay users can earn 1 point for every peso spent in their daily commute. This is applicable for rides in participating buses, PUVs, and retail stores within Metro Manila (trains and reloading transactions are not included).
To join the promo, beep cardholders must download the beep mobile app and register their card. A customer can register up to five beep cards (though points are earned per card and can’t be combined with other cards). The beep Rewards promo is up until November 22, 2020. Reward points are earned only through eligible transactions.
A beep cardholder must earn a minimum of 1,000 points to redeem P10 beep load. Redemption is facilitated through the beep mobile app and can be claimed via any beep e-load station. There is no limit to the number of points that can be earned and redeemed within the promo period. Terms and conditions apply. Click here to know more about the promo mechanics.
Contactless payments
Tap-to-pay using a beep card is one of the contactless ways to pay for transactions in the new normal. The service has been helpful in the adoption of cashless payments in the local public transportation sector during the pandemic.
“Cashless payments are ideal, especially at this time, because it helps us avoid physical contact with money or transport tickets where viruses may thrive,” said AF Payments Inc. Chief Commercial Officer Sharon Fong.
“We’d like to do our part by promoting the use of the beep payment system and not only for the convenience of the passengers and efficiency for transport operators but as a means to prevent the spread of the disease as well. We thank the commuters for their cooperation and understanding as we support the transition to the new and better systems that can address the challenges we are facing today,” she added.
The beep card
A beep card can be used multiple times as it is reloadable and is valid for 4 years. It serves as a perfect tool for commuters who use public transportation, without the need to get into long queues. They can more likely observe social distancing when taking a ride as they can simply board a bus, train, or PUV and just tap the card to pay for fares.
beep cards can be purchased (and reloaded) at authorized retailers (convenience stores) and public transport terminals. Click this link to learn more or reach the customer service desk at these numbers: (02) 8 737 9600; 0917 512 1319; or 0998 5819675.
