Pru Life UK has announced the extension of its free Covid-19 protection and Personal Accident (PA) coverage sign-up offer until June 15, 2020. This is a program facilitated through its Pulse app, an artificial intelligence-powered health and wellness app offering holistic health management.
The 45-day insurance coverage is aimed at providing income protection to families of more Filipinos, especially the health workers, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The limited, exclusive offer is available to the first 500,000 individuals who register their profiles on the Pulse app until June 15, 2020. The insurance coverage takes effect on the date of successful registration.
Eligibility
To qualify for the offer, a person must be residing in the country and is aged 18 to 64 years. He/She will be entitled to a death benefit or lump sum amounting to P100,000 for the bereaved family if the insured passes away due to Covid-19 or an accident (subject to terms and conditions). Health workers are entitled to twice or up to P200,000 death benefits. In both cases, a P10,000 burial benefit will be added if the insured person’s death is caused by an illness or a natural cause, and not an accident.
People who have already been diagnosed with Covid-19 or those who have symptoms, who have been under medical quarantine (persons under investigation) and who have been living with a Covid-19 patient at the time of the registration are not eligible for the free insurance.
This free Covid-19 insurance policy is aimed at supporting health workers who are front liners. They include but are not limited to, health professionals, associates, community health service workers, and health management and support staff. No purchase is required to avail of the free insurance.
How to register
To register for this free insurance offer, simply download the free Pulse app on Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Create an account, complete the user profile, and register for the free Covid-19 offer. Existing Pulse registrants would receive an in-app notification instructing them to complete their profiles and to register for the free insurance. A confirmation email will be sent upon successful registration.
The insured person can list and update his/her beneficiaries also through the app within the 45-day coverage. A 45-day extension for policyholders whose plans have already lapsed will be available soon.
