The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Z Flip3 5G had proven to be much anticipated in the Philippines, in terms of the success of the devices’ pre-orders. Advanced orders for the new foldable smartphones were facilitated locally from August 19 to September 21, 2021.
According to Samsung Philippines, pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Z Flip3 5G were seven times higher than demand for the Z Fold 5G and Z Flip combined. The new foldable devices have also recorded more sales on their first day than the previous models had in the entire duration of their pre-orders.
Pre-order demands for the devices even outpaced the pre-order demand for the Galaxy Note20 Series. Thus, the Philippines has become among the best-performing countries in terms of pre-launch sales.
“We are grafetul for the overwhelming support of our customers,” said Samsung PH President James Jung. “This unprecedented demand shows that the market is ready to embrace the foldable category. We believe that the versatility and flexibility that come with this new form factor play a big role in driving market demand.”
Accounting for over half of the combined local pre-orders was the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. Local customers’ favorite 256GB variants were the Phantom black and the flagship colorway Cream.
The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G retails for ₱87,990 for 256GB (Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and online-exclusive Phantom Green) and ₱95,990 for the 512GB variant (Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and online-exclusive Phantom Silver).
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z flip3 5G retails for ₱52,990 for the 128GB variant and ₱56,990 for the 256GB variant. They are available in Cream, Lavender, Green, and Phantom Black colorways.
