Samsung brings to PH its best smartphone yet—Galaxy S9 and S9+

Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation has finally launched in the Philippines its new flagship units, which are designed to reimagine the way people communicate, share, and experience the world.

Easily described as the best smartphone yet from the tech giant, the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ showcase all the features that can enhance the way people express their selves through videos, photos, and even emojis.

“Today’s smartphones are more than just for taking pictures—we rely on them for communication and self-expression,” said Samsung Philippines Business Unit Head for IT and Mobile Jerry Manus during the official and grand launch of the new flagship smartphone duo on March 9.

“With the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we have reimagined the whole camera experience. Not only does it help you take gorgeous photos and videos, but it also allows you to connect and express yourself in the most creative and personal way possible,” he added.

The camera reimagined
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones are equipped with sets of cameras that adapt to super low or bright lighting conditions just like the human eye does.

The Super Speed Dual Pixel 12MP rear camera with autofocus (AF) sensor as well as optical image stability (OIS) make taking of better photos possible in any light condition. There is also an 8MP AF front camera (F1.7) plus Dual Aperture (F1.5/F2.4) in rear cameras. The Galaxy S9+ has an additional Telephoto 12MP rear camera with AF sensor.

The Super Slow Mo is one of the most outstanding features of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, which can capture about 960 frames per second. That is quadruple times slower compared to standard slow-mo settings, facilitating vivid recording of each detail more clearly. There is even an automatic Motion Detection feature that enables video recording upon detection of movement in the frame. To provide a more dramatic effect, slow-mo videos can come with background music.

And who would not rave about the Augmented Reality (AR) emoji that instantly changes the way one expresses himself/herself? The new smartphone can instantly analyze your photo so it can map out more than 100 facial features and create a mini 3D model that in turn can be shared to others as GIFs or stickers.

The intelligence platform Bixby is now integrated into the camera. This way, useful information about the surroundings through real-time object detection and recognition is facilitated. Bixby can also do translation of foreign language and currency via its Live Translation function.

Performance and entertainment reimagined
Unparalleled performance is made possible as Galaxy S9 and S9+ operates on 4GB and 6GB of RAM, respectively. Memory is still expandable up to about 400GB. Moreover, the duo of smartphones can withstand water and dust, thanks to its IP68 technology. Meanwhile, enhanced security is brought about by its face, iris, and fingerprint recognition features.

In history, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the first ever smartphones that carry the SmartThings App, which facilitates control and management of other Samsung devices and appliances remotely. The Samsung DeX Pad enables the user to connect the device to a bigger monitor, mouse, or keyboard. And then, its docking system can convert the smartphones into a Touch Keyboard and Touch Pad.

As a device for entertainment, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ is bundled with bezel-free Super AMOLED Infinity Display. The devices also sport the trademark curved Quad HD screen—S9 has 5.8 inches and S9+ has 6.2 inches. For additional screen performance, there is an adaptive contrast enhancement so that even direct sunlight could not hinder its screen.

The new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are now available in all Samsung device retailers nationwide. The devices can be bought in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple body colors.
