How SM MOA Grounds turned into a colorful fun run haven last weekend

All roads led to SM Mall of Asia last weekend (October 21 and 22). The area literally turned into a colorful fun run paradise, thanks to these back-to-back fun run events that gathered thousands of participants.

After staging its unique-concept fun run in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, Hello Kitty Run finally made it to Manila and staged its first event in the country on Saturday, October 21. Event distance was just one—5K.

Hello Kitty fanatics gathered early morning that day at SM MOA Grounds for what was said to be the Happiest Run K-vent. As promised, Hello Kitty herself showed up for a meet-and-greet with fans and friends during the fun run. The participants created a sea of pink—an awesome visual treat for bystanders and observers.

Over 6,000 runners gathered at MOA Grounds on October 22 for Color Manila’s Glitter Run. The early morning race had three categories: 3K, 5K, and 10K. The entire race was made more fun by the different foam stations and of course, the signature color powder this time with glitters that were thrown into the air.

After the event, a color festival instantly kicked in. The post-event celebration facilitated non-stop partying of successful runners while more color powders were thrown into the air.

“We’re always happy to see our runners enjoy the race that we organize in detail for them,” said Color Manila Vice President Justine Cordero. “We make sure that we give them a race experience that will make them go back for more. We also make sure we give them a world-class fun run experience.”

Color Manila has three more fun run events this year. On October 29, it will mount Challenge Run in Ilocos Sur; on November 4 it will hold Blacklight Tanay; and on December 2, it will stage Blacklight at Clark, Pampanga.
