Retail-wholesale store chain ‘Tindahan ni Juan’ gears up for major expansion

(Edited Press Release)

Local chain of online retail/wholesale stores Tindahan ni Juan is set to make a major expansion this year. With seven physical outlets currently operational in Zambales and Olongapo, the proudly Filipino-inspired brand is eyeing more outlets in Bataan, the rest of Region 3, and eventually in Metro Manila within the next few months.

In line with its optimistic growth surge, the company’s major stakeholders, led by its president Ramon Fernandez, assembled at the Summit Hotel Greenhills on July 3, 2023 for their contract signing.

Present at the event were co-incorporators Dr. Arnold L. Vegafria, Congresswoman Cheryl Deloso-Montalla, Francis Fontanilla, Raymund Receno, Atty. Mario Ryan Lauzon, Maricel Narra, and Ronald Acosta.

From its humble beginnings in 2019, Tindahan ni Juan started out as a makeshift rice distribution hub, which eventually expanded to other everyday essentials, household products, and even office equipment and industrial supplies.

A cut above traditional retail/wholesale outlets, Tindahan ni Juan takes pride in its various business platforms. It has also seamlessly integrated technology into its back-end marketing and distribution strategies, boosting its sales even further via:

  1. A mobile app  (for online orders/delivery)
  2. Facebook page (for 24/7 customer service and feedback), and
  3. Rolling stores (store-on-wheels) that ply their routes to loyal customers on a daily basis

Tindahan ni Juan Vice President Dr. Vegafria proudly acknowledges the brand’s nationalistic sentiment. He says, “The patriotic reference is clearly evident in the brand’s red, white, and blue color motif, as well as its company slogan, Ang Tindahan ng Bayan—an obvious homage to its Pinoy roots as well as its niche market.”

He continues, “Tindahan ni Juan is very Pinoy. Basically, we derived it from Juan dela Cruz, our symbolic representation of the masses. That’s why our prices are very low because we want them to be affordable to everyone.

For her part, Cong. Deloso is optimistic about the store’s impact on the local economy. She says, “We have seen this job employment boom back in Zambales and Olongapo City, even during the height of the pandemic. If we can do this on a nationwide scale, we can only imagine the positive impact it can generate for the local economy.”

More than the brand’s unprecedented success, Tindahan ni Juan President Fernandez takes more pride in the unmistakable influence of Divine Providence in the realization of his dream.

“Tindahan ni Juan was a big leap of faith for me,” admitted Fernandez, a former professor. “After years of living out an uninspired work grind, I realized it was time to start anew and carve out a more meaningful career path that would not just create a unique brand, but glorify His name as well.”

“After having hurdled several setbacks in my previous business before, I realized that they were never really stumbling blocks. They were just God’s way of redirecting me to a better path, and for that, I shall always remain humbled and thankful.”
