Water Philippines 2025 showcases solutions to address ongoing water crisis

Press Release

The call for an improved water management in the Philippines is getting its much-needed amplification as WATER PHILIPPINES rolls out its 7th edition from March 19 to 21, 2025 at the Ground Level of the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City.

WATER PHILIPPINES, a biennial trade event focusing on water and wastewater management in the country, is showcasing over 400 exhibitor-brands and products with an anticipated attendance of over 12,000 trade visitors who are participating in the expo and in over 50 high-level conferences, seminars, and workshops throughout the three-day event.

WATER PHILIPPINES is supporting the Bagong Pilipinas government of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, who has been calling for an improved water management across the country,” said Datuk Ir. Abdul Kadir B. Mohd Din, FASc, advisor of ASIAWATER, Informa Markets, the organizer of WATER PHILIPPINES. “The event aims to contribute by showcasing the latest innovations in water filtration and wastewater treatment as well as the best practices for managing water resources.”

The National Water Resources Board has highlighted that approximately 11 million families in the Philippines currently face challenges in accessing clean water. This statistic, while concerning, also underscores an opportunity for collective action and improvement in water resource management. In 2020, there were around 26.39 million families in the Philippines, indicating that nearly half still encounter difficulties in securing this vital resource. Philippines is an archipelago surrounded by rich water resources and experiences significant weather events, including typhoons that can lead to flooding. These extreme weather patterns, alongside rapid population growth, water pollution, and management challenges, have contributed to the ongoing water accessibility issues.

Despite these challenges, there is a growing recognition of the need for sustainable solutions. Efforts are underway to enhance water management practices and invest in infrastructure that supports cleaner water access for all.

“With the theme ‘Shaping the Future of Water Management,’ WATER PHILIPPINES 2025 serves as a platform for highlighting innovative solutions and sharing of knowledge and best practices that local water industry leaders and players can utilize and adopt,” Datuk Kadir adds.

The exhibition and conferences feature local and international leaders and are focused on international sanitation, water supply, industrial wastewater treatment and purification practices and technologies among others.

Among the conference highlights are the Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) Conference that underlines innovative, inclusive, and sustainable water solutions; the Regional Water Talks 2.0 by ASIAWATER that facilitates dialogs with industry experts from the region; Technology Seminars about sustainable treatment and utilization of water, used water, and sludge; PSSE (Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers) Seminar focusing on sustainable water management; and the Luzon Conference hosted by the National Master Plumbers Association of the Philippines (NAMPAP).

The 7th edition of WATER PHILIPPINES will feature more than 400 exhibiting companies and brands including three international pavilions including from Germany, Singapore, and Taiwan. The event is held simultaneously as a co-located event with PhilEnergy 2025, which is being held at the 2nd level of the SMX Convention Center Manila from March 19 to 21, 2025.
