YouTube is teaming up with mobile services provider Smart Communications Inc. for a series of online events and workshops for established and aspiring YouTube creators. ‘Creator Camp LIVE’ aims to impart insights from the YouTube community, leading content creators, and industry experts.
The online series aims to make participants learn how to pivot and be effective in the time disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Among the specific lessons are: the creation of relevant and resourceful content, getting into meaningful collaborations, building a strong brand, and taking care of well-being.
“Creator Camp LIVE is YouTube’s commitment to helping our creators thrive during these uncertain times,” said Marc Lefkowitz, Head of YouTube Creator and Artist Development, APAC. “We hope that through Creator Camp LIVE together with Smart, we continue to empower the Filipino creator community with resources, opportunities, and content that matter to them.”
Creator Camp LIVE was first launched in December 2019 in Cebu to empower creators outside Luzon through a series of face-to-face workshops. YouTube transformed the program into a digital-first initiative when the pandemic started.

Creator Camp LIVE series will kick off on Thursday, June 25, 2020 on Smart Communications’ YouTube channel (all succeeding episodes will also be uploaded there). Episode 1 will be live-streamed from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will tackle the Power of Community with Wil Dasovich as a resource person.
Episode 2 will be streamed on July 10 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature Alodia Gosiengfiao who will discuss Building a Strong Brand. Episode 3 will be on July 24 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will have Erwan Heussaf tackle The Relevance of Content Creators.
