There’s an online ‘influenzaaa’ making the rounds across social media these days. Fred D’ Germ began his online presence through memes. The next thing, he was seen trolling local celebrities and influencers like Anne Curtis, Karla Estrada, and Jolina Magdangal, leaving comments on some posts of these personalities.
He seemed to have met his match when he trolled the social media accounts of Safeguard Philippines. Fred D’ Germ was particularly raving about the findings of a recent study by Safeguard, which indicated that up to 50% of Filipinos don’t properly wash their hands.
Like a real ‘influenzaaa,’ Fred D’ Germ is leveling up his ante by releasing a single rap track, with no less than Filipino rapping sensation Gloc 9. Fred D’ Germ has dropped his rap single ‘Hugas na Rin ‘Yan!’ Through the track, he aims to influence more Filipinos to continue observing improper handwashing. He’s now on Spotify, in the airwaves through local radio stations, and even on major billboards across EDSA.
Fred D’ Germ serves as another example that not all popular personalities on social media should be followed and trusted. Good thing, Safeguard has reiterated its goal to eradicated ‘influenzaaas’ like Fred D’ Germ. The brand is urging all Filipinos to practice proper #SafeWash for a safer and healthier country.
So you know what to do when you see Fred D’ Germ roaming around—eradicate him by properly washing your hands, as frequently as possible.
