Ultra-fast broadband service is now readily available in all residential condominiums within Rockwell Center in Makati City. PLDT has announced the completion of a fiberization project covering the entire 15-hectare premier lifestyle and business area.

The giant telecoms and digital services provider’s Fibr capability now brings internet with speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) to customers in Rizal Tower, Hidalgo Place, Luna Gardens, Edades Garden Villas and Towers, The Manansala, Amorsolo Towers, Joya Lofts and Towers, and One Rockwell.

This Fibr rollout would further raise the online lifestyle of a community that is already digitally savvy. As a rapidly growing and prime commercial center, access to ultra-fast broadband would also facilitate digital platform enhancement and open more growth opportunities for businesses in the hub.

Complete digital lifestyle
“To be a world-class community, you need world-class internet and that is what PLDT Home Fibr will provide,” said PLDT FVP and Head of Consumer Business for Market Development Oscar A. Reyes Jr. “Rockwell Center is a major lifestyle and business hub, and having access to high-speed connectivity is a crucial aspect of any modern community looking to expand and upgrade. The Fibr experience is not just about connectivity, it’s a complete digital lifestyle. It’s the future of broadband.”

Fibr-powered homes can take advantage of up to 100 Mbps of symmetrical speeds. This means downloading and uploading of content at equal high speed can be facilitated.

“This powerful connectivity also enables them to enjoy renowned entertainment options from PLDT Home’s game-changing entertainment box—the Roku Powered TVolution which offers Cignal TV, and over 100 streaming channels including Netflix, iflix, and YouTube,” said PLDT FVP and Head of Home Business Marco Borlongan.

High-speed broadband to more homes
“PLDT Home Fibr also allows lag-free and stable streaming of high-quality, high-definition video content without pixilation,” Borlongan added. Subscribers to the service can also opt to sign up for PLDT’s SmartHome security devices like the FamCam home monitoring system, the Fam Zone cyber security platform, and multi-functional kiddie gadget technology Smart Watch. They can also apply to avail Whole Home WiFi service—the first ever intelligent Home Wi-Fi technology in the country.

The company is currently in progress in rolling out the ultra-fast service speed nationwide as part of its mission to provide more Filipinos with access to high-speed broadband. Its fiber facilities have passed over 3.3 million homes as of end of June. PLDT is set to expand its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) coverage to more than 4 million homes passed by the end of the year. Hybrid fiber technologies like Huawei’s G.fast (can provide up to 700 Mbps of data speed per user) are also being deployed to boost data speeds over traditional copper line connections.

PLDT’s fiber optic cables now span over 150,000 kilometers in the country. The company has invested about P300 billion (around US$6 billion) over the past decade for continuous development of its extensive fixed and wireless network infrastructure.
