What you should know about Acer’s short flick ‘#KasyaPa’

Acer Philippines has produced and launched a short film that heralds its ongoing partnership with men’s fashion brand Salvatore Mann. The romantic flick, entitled #KasyaPa, lasts 8 minutes and features actress Alessandra de Rossi and comedian Empoy Marquez—a tandem that recently surprised the entertainment industry when their digital film Kita Kita made it big at the local box office.

#KasyaPa showcases the popular tourism spots in Singapore, where the short film was shot entirely. It was directed by GB Sampedro, who have also directed several teleseryes in ABS-CBN. The film also features Acer laptops and Salvatore Mann bags with an announcement about the two brands’ team up for a joint pre-holiday promo.

For a period until October 15, 2017, every customer who purchases an Acer laptop or projector will also bring home a special Salvatore Mann bag from the exclusive collection that the fashion brand designed just for Acer’s pre-holiday promo.

A customer who buys an Acer projector or an Acer Aspire i3-powered PC will get a free duffel bag or backpack, while one who purchases an i5-powered, i7-powered, or all-in-one Acer Aspire PC will bring home both. Moreover, he/she can bring home a free sling bag by presenting an SM Advantage, SM Prestige, or BDO Rewards Card upon transaction.

“We build partnerships with brands and personalities that not only resonate with Acer’s aesthetics and appeal, but help enrich and strengthen them as well,” said Acer Philippines Sales and Marketing Director Sue Ong-Lim.

 

Ideal partnership
When asked why the company picked De Rossi and Marquez for the project, Ong-Lim said the duo embodies their requirements. “Empoy and Alessandra, in their most recent film Kita Kita and as seen in #KasyaPa, exhibit relatability and resilience—traits that personify Acer. Meanwhile, Acer laptops and gadgets are sleek and fashionable, yet highly functional—characteristics that define Salvatore Mann bags, too.”

For its part, Salvatore Mann also expressed its gratitude to be Acer’s partner for the promo. “Hand in hand, Salvatore Mann and Acer have shown that style and functionality can be achieved; it need not be one or the other,” said SM Shoes and Bags Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing Rina Bugayong. Meanwhile, for the followers of the ‘Alempoy’ love team, you can watch the short film below. During the flick’s launch, De Rossi also revealed that there would be a sequel—this time from the point of view of her character—that will be released soon.
